Funny Its hard to type 400 word essays explaining every detail on a cell phone with my nail.I have highly developed a secondy that is tall and not standard ratio.If you want to see how I started on plastic coke bottle cap,Take a look how I started at the begining of my website(Last page)Experimenting alot with little time.Let me make it more clear.My glass coke bottles are about 6-7mm thick and hold alot of volume.So does my tank of salt water were my bottles are in.Salt alone is not good enough when your voltage has to travel through all that water,Must take longer because salt is not Metal!When using vinegar it conducts the voltage faster though all that volume.Vinegar is acidic and is conductive like battery acid.The walls should withstand 10kVA or so if well made like mine are. When my light is off I dont see any racing sparks and minimal lossy at high performance.I use oil to suppress the lossy. My twin spark gap is totally adjustable when running the Coil from left to right and around in circles and I can record it if you to show you, that when it is sometimes closer to the one side(Shorter spark gap)And away from the other side even to max power the way it fires is different from if it were say,The same distance from each leg to middle conductor at max(distance) power will most definately not fire at the same frequency.My guess is that if the first gap fires fast because the air is ironised quicker and the spark jumps though less conductive air but smaller gap,Then fast again into the center "Good" conductor then fires over a long distance again though less conductive air and alters the fire rate again and the frequency, then fast into the other leg of the gap thus I belive by firing twice, the the frequency changes twice.My Tesla Coil does not go above 10cm with one gap on my setup.My gap is not quenched so it gets really hot so you cant touch it and hot air conducts electricity better than cold air.I built my first jacobs ladder from just watching the movie Powder,took me less than half an hour.Anyway my gap works well for 32cm streamers(When warmed up)And they are loud and noisy and please see my one of my first tries on the last pages of www.flickr.com/photos/Kingsandangels If you would like to ask more I can write it bit by bit.My website is made off my phone and long explanations is hard so I tend to say everything at once.I apologise.
