RE: [TCML] Caps
My experience in 1994 was a good one.
I had access to a decent vacuum pump and followed Richard Quick's
instructions to the letter. I didn't have a clean room but I did have a room
that I didn't use for anything else for a week. Closed the door and misted
the carpet with very dilute Stay-Pruf fabric softener (excellent
anti-static). Made sure to round off the edges of the aluminum flashing and
cleaned everything with alcohol and lint-free swabs before starting to roll.
As I understood, any point on the surface would be an open invitation for a
breakdown.
I used Mineral Oil as the dielectric -- let it sit for a week and then
applied vacuum for another two weeks.
Worked fine.

Fun times then and glad to be back in it...
