RE: [TCML] tery filter



Circuits that operate at 20+ KV don't lend themselves to miniaturization.  The resistors must sustain transient voltages of 10's of KV so they can't be small or else they may arc over.  Also the resistors get pretty hot so they need to be big.  And the various components need to be spaced far enough apart so they don't arc or generate corona.  One probably could build it under oil of there was a pressing need to miniaturize, but it's just much easier to build it large enough so you don't need to.
