Removing MOT laminations (fwd)

Subject: Removing MOT laminations

Hi,

How do you remove the I laminations block from the E laminations block? I 
have an old MOT, and am in the process of re-winding it. I need an airgap 
for it,and have no way of introducing one without seperating the laminations

Also, I dont have access to a blowtorch, arc welder, oxygas torch etc etc.
