Re: [TCML] Nee recommendation for a SRSG motor arbor
Curt,
I think it's because the collar has a split design. I'm really pleased with
mine on my ARSG, although I'm told that I need another piece for the
collar to slip into for the ensamble to be complete. However, I'm not
running it with near the rigor that it would see in a 100% duty cycle in-
dustrial environment, so I think my setup will be fine.

I've seen those in catalogs but I guess the name split *taper* scared me
off. I thought they were for a tapered shaft or something. Do you know
why they call them that?
Thanks,
Curt.

Hi Curt,
You may also look into "spilt-taper bushings"

I used one of these in the ARSG of my Green Monster coil to
secure the disc to the shaft of my DC motor.
