Yes.
Connect your spark gap directly across the xmfr. Connect the cap in series
with the sparkgap top side and the pri tap. The other side of the xmfr goes
to the innermost winding on the primary. Less RF into the xmfr using this
technique.

I have reviewed many TC schematics and some have the spark gap in the
tank
circuit between the capacitor and the primary but a few actually show it
connected between the transformer and the capacitor. Is there a preferred

better circuit?
