Probably polypropylene or polyethylene.  For home made caps 1/16" or 0.060
(60 mil) low density polyethylene is best because you can manipulate it
easiest. pp or hdpe is rather stiff and difficult to roll by hand.

  Hi Russell.

No, Mylar is a terrible dielectric for the frequencies tesla coils operate
at. It's very lossy and heats up as a result.
