Drake,
     The Lowe's where I live only has flex duct up to 6-in, and I had the 
12-in stove pipe elbows laying around doing absolutely nothing (but I do 
like the flex duct toroids, they are nice and light and very shiny!).  In 
any event, my arc length did indeed increase by about 10 inches, but it does 
have a tenancy to break out of the joints, perhaps some foil tape smoothed 
over will help.  Thanks.
