Well, I did just that when I first took it out. I kept the 15amp fuse in line and ran it for 20 minutes....I expected it to blow the fuse...but nope.... it sat there with just a spark gap and barely even made a good spark.

Hi there! I don't think you need to remove any shunts in that MOT.
All mot:s have shunts but they do very little in means of current limit
the transformer. In the microwave it's the capacitor in the voltage
doubler circuit that handles the current limiting. Go ahead and plug it
in you will most likely pop a breaker trying to draw an arc. And as
usual Be very careful MOT:s are very dangerous!!
