My cordless toothbrush uses wireless power transfer --- it just doesn't transfer more than a few inches while it's charging the batteries in the toothbrush.
The problem is the efficiency is horrible and therefore it's not applicable to normal commercial uses. Until it becomes efficient enough to violate the standard 1/d squared physics equation it's not going to succeed.
