Myself, I don't think so. I belive Tesla coils, properly tuned, are resonant to the earths natural frequency7.83Hz.

Hi Ed,

So here we get to the crux of the matter. Is it your opinion that wireless
power transmission violates the laws of nature?

Do you have any idea at all of what a Tesla coil designed for a resonant frequency of 7.83 Hz would look like? If the secondary obeyed the Tesla's "1/4 wavelength" rule the wire length would need to be almost 5948 statute miles! Take any coil diameter and length you want [or consider reasonable] and calculate the wire diameter needed to fit those dimensions. Interesting excercise! If I didn't slip a few decimal points I calculated the wire size for a coil 100 feet in diameter and 500 feet high, about the limit one would want in the back yard. It turns out to be 0.00125 inches. The smallest wire in my wire table is #46 B&S and it has a diameter of 0.0015 inches. The resistance is 4.61 ohms per foot or 24, 340 ohms per mile. I calculate the secondary resistance as almost 145 megohms. How does that sound as the receiver (or transmitter) for a wireless power transmission system?
