Re: MMC bank vs. Maxwell

Hi Keith,

If you already have the 2 Maxwells on hand, then use them. Performance is really not the issue with MMC's. They do perform well, but so do Maxwells and other professional pulse caps from other manufacturers. MMC's do offer a better scenario when something goes wrong. I use both. I use a few 60KV pulse caps from CSI (p/n 60N468S) which always stay cool, have never had a problem with, and perform excellent. I also use MMC's for coils. Both do well. If you have them, use them.

Take care,
Bart

Hello all - I been coiling since '97 but was out of
the jist of things while working for the past four
years and now getting back into it. I have a couple
Maxwell caps .03uf, 35Kv I got about five years ago
before moving and work taking over too much of my
life...

MMC banks seem to be the thing to do now and I was
wondering: are there are any benefits, other than the
cost/availability, between using an MMC bank or my two
Maxwell caps in serries.

Regards and thanks in advance!
Keith
