Major bummer!
They use the fabric reinforced phenolic in some aircraft for control
cable guides. And for wear strips in doors. So you might try your
local airports repair facility or an online supplier for homebuilt aircraft.
People run the rotary gaps rather tight. Probably a good idea to get
G10 for the stifness. It also has better electric and heat properties
then the natural fiber variety. ( but it is pricey)
The natural fiber variety does work nicely for fabrication of primary
bracket's and other HV fittings.
