This transformer has now been running museum duty for 4 years. I just 
came back from there right now, to do sound pressure measurements, 
and during a 1/3 octave frequency analysis the coil ran for 20 
minutes without interruption.
Others have done this. I was inspired by Mark Finnis downunder, and 
others have done it as well-
