The GFIs, intentionally, as i understand it, are responsive to
'fast' transients.  I've not tried this, nor had too, but seems
likely that sufficient, effective, rfi filtering of
leads is a good place to start.

RFI, being 'devious', may be coupling direct to GFI, so faraday
cage, with line filters, around coil/secondary, or GFI,
is a possibility.
