Electronic Neon Transformers

Hello All,

Does anyone know what frequency electronic neon transformers run at? 
I am looking at a very inexpensive 10KV 30ma unit. My thought was if 
the freq is up there it would be easy to add a voltage CW quadrupler 
for a capacitor charger. Thoughts? I would like to get up to 40KV. 
Higher frequencies allow for smaller value (and less expensive) HV 
multiplier caps. Has anyone experimented with these trannies?
