RE: [TCML] removing transformer windings
I have done it several times. I used a dremel tool to cut the sec. the hard
part is getting the first wires out of the opening in the laminations. You
also have to be very careful with the dremel not to damage the primary
windings. I would recommend covering them with something. After I got the
sec. cut, I ended up in a vise with a punch and hammer so, the chisel may be
more efficient then the dremel. I will try it next time.

Actually, the bandsaw blade will pull off random lengths of wire and you
will spend __hours__ picking them out from bearings, guides and places you
never even knew your bandsaw had.
Not that this is from personal experience, just sayin' 'ya know...
Best way for me has been a cold chisel and a hammer. I have been recycling
various MOTs for use in the shop as power supplies for CNC machines and for
one spot welder. Secure the core in a nice solid vice, grab the chisel and
hammer and start whaling away.
Takes about 10-15 minutes.
