a very strange thing is happening with the MMC on my 1"
coil, it is made from a bunch of (i think) .0047uf 270v
ceramic caps (the little blue ones found in computer psu's),
and a few others i had laying around (of random values). the
final ratings were .5nf at something like 5kv. now, they
havent died yet, but i am running them WAY over-votage. they
get hammered with 9-11kv from the induction coil that runs
the TC. WHY HAVE THEY NOT EXPLODED YET??????????
still working good as new......
