Re: Thoraited Tungsten Rods

Hi Kurt,

I agree completely; Misspelling is one of the biggest problems with internet searching. I would vote for at least titles of threads being edited for spelling. I am sick of having to search of "capciters, resisters, and torrids". More than that, it is a real pain, even for native speakers, to have to decode what was intended from what has been written. Back in my school days, (along with dinosaur hunting) we were taught that proper use of language, including spelling and grammar, were a mark of respect for one's readers as well as a source of pride for the writer. Today's disdain for such considerations is simply an equal mix rudeness and ignorance. Contempt for proper language usage here in the US has almost become a "badge of honor" within the 15- to 30-year-old Internet crowd. Whenever I receive an email with careful attention to spelling, punctuation, and grammar, it is almost assuredly from someone who is either over 40 or someone for whom English is NOT a first language.

Thank you for your post,

Matt D.

Why nobody like to spell the title as "Thoriated..." instead of
"Thoraited..." ???

The whole thread might not show up in a later archive search for "thoriated".

In addition, foreign language members, like myself, would really
benefit from halfway correct spelling.

Kurt

P.S. I'm aware, that legastheny has nothing to do with intelligence,
and would not like to discourage anybody to post to the list.
