RE: Machining an Egg

Hi Jeremiah,

Thanks for you offer to help with the machine work... I've finally settled
on a platter for the egg you can see here:

http://www.teslauniverse.com/members/cprince/images/egg_of_columbus/

I found it at this store we have in the area called Hobby Lobby. It's like a
wooden fruit bowl, but it is the closest thing I could find to what I saw at
the museum and memorial and believe me, I searched everywhere. I'm going to
saw the sculptured edge off and build a fence like structure around it like
Tesla did.

They also had the eggs you see in the photos. The larger one is wood, the
smaller is a plaster like material. I can spin them both by hand and they
stand up in the bowl as they should albeit the smaller one does better.

I bought the eggs to give you a pattern to work with. I overestimated in the
original post when I stated a 3 inch diameter. The larger egg in the photo
is just slightly less than 2 inches. The smaller one is about 1 and 5/8
inches. I like the larger one better, but I'd like you to machine one of
each size just in case. I believe a 6 inch long 2 inch diameter section of
copper round stock would be enough to do them both.

If you will give me your address off-list, I'll have the rod drop shipped
directly to you. Please also tell me your charge for the labor and I'll mail
you a check for it and the shipping fee to get them to me when you've
finished.

Thanks, I really appreciate your help with this.

Cameron
