Original poster: jhowson4@xxxxxxxxxxx I can get a fairly descent spark from the NTS about an inch and it makes a really load humming sound. But you can't start with the gap with the electrodes separated there has to be a connection to get it to start or it has to be really close to being connected like 1mm close. (some safety thing I think. Some one at a shop said that it could have a gts circuit or something like that I don't remember). I could only ever get it to jump a very small gap with the capacitors since the time I bought it. I got it on ebay like a year and a half ago I hope I was not cheated.


With the gap working (hardly) I tried the house wire and cardboard primary that Dr Resonance mentioned but to no prevail.
