    Yes, that's them. I also looked for them and couldn't find them
at Digi-Key. Allied carries them, though:

Yep, those are the ones I thought they were, and as I thought I
remembered,
they are too rich for me.

    I assume Cox recommends them because his experience has shown
them to be reliable, simple, and tough. High current connectors
tend to be big, and big is good for HV.

He also has the luxury of doing this for a living - I do not.

    Not cheap? Try finding a cheap, plug-in connector rated for 25kV!

I can make them from any machinable plastic, banana jack parts, and a
modified PL-259 connector.  A friend of mine came up with a pretty
good design for his CO2 laser power supply (which runs upward of 20kVAC)

I guess I will have to scrap the coax idea, unless I strip the shield
off, but the shield was half of the reason for using it - I wanted to
protect against secondary strikes to the HV lines from the NST filter
- "defense in depth"!
