Re: PIRANHA - New Top Load Configuration

Hi,
Pardon my inexperience with them, but what do the "dragons"
do? Never used a dragon on a coil before!

The dragons also arrived today. Four for the corners, and one up top ;-)

......
The PIRANHA SISG coil is "only" running at 67% streamer length
now. In the final configuration it will look like this:

I will further "pump up" the arc length as needed. The four small
brass spheres in the top corners of the main box collect streamer
hits to ground like a strike rail. The alternative is they will
burn-up the pretty (pretty expensive!) oak box:

But I found these "dragons" on the net for a very good price!:

Far cooler than the dumb brass balls. And with the price of copper
now, "FAR cheaper"... The sharp wings help attract streamers to
ground too. Just have to thread the base for 1/4-20 brass thread
stock and they are good to go for top cover bolts. With the four top
spheres, a strike "ring" is not needed, but perhaps four strike
"targets" under each ball...

So they are just fancy "strike rail" type things. I have a big
dragon that mounts on the top too. It can be mounted low for just
show, or mounted up high as a top breakout point. Far cooler than a
bent up old piece of AWG-10...
Cheers,
Terry
