RE: 3-phase DC power supply

Hi Russell,

I am building a three phase static converter with a 20 HP three phase new GE
motor. And all new start and run capacitors. That's about 15Kwatt ; you
would derate it to 10Kwatts or so adding another motor in parallel is
additive. I have a new baldor 5HP, I think that helps clean up the sine
wave. You will need a healthy line supply.

Do you need a delta or wye configuration? Email me off list and I'll explain
how it works.

Secondly you could build or acquire a 3 phase generator which is what I am
doing. I have a transformer to go from delta 480V to wye 208V 4 wire which
is what my radar PS requires. This also cleans up the sine wave. Mine is
rated at 28kv ~ 1 amp.

Hi guys,
A friend of mine has a 30 KV, High current DC power supply that we
want to drive a new coil with. We plan to use a high power radar
switch for the gap. The problem is the power supply is 3-phase and
we only have 220 available. Does any one have any experience with
this or any suggestions on how to power this monster.
Thanks,
Russell
