Re: PIRANHA - New Top Load Configuration

Hi John,

The first thing that "struck me" with the "SISG thing" was that the "spark making guts" of the Tesla coil was now just a "dumb and "DULL" part"...

Working on the high speed streak camera stuff was all with the SISG, which might as well have been a common "power supply"... Just "flip a switch" dummy stuff...

You just "program the spark length" as needed... All the "old time days" of worrying about caps, gaps, coils and such is just a "computer punch out" now...

Look at the guts of it...

Just "drop it in there"...

http://drsstc.com/~piranha/PIRANHA/PIRANHA-2/PIRANHA-Const-011.JPG

The new top terminal idea seems to work "PERFECTLY"....

http://drsstc.com/~piranha/PIRANHA/PIRANHA-2/PIRANHA-Const-002.JPG

All my old aluminum duct toroids are going to the trash now and I think the bigger spun toroids I have are "depreciated" too much in price by all this to bother trying to sell now :-p...

Things "have changed" "very much" ;-)))

Finn even has a triggered SISG going very well just now...

So as the technology advances into the "dull"... We must find "new ways" to "embellish" our coils ;-))

With my SISG, I buried the primary primary coil deep behind plastic and insulation since the primary is very lethal. I lost some coupling, but that is easy to get back buy removing those dumb shorting jumpers ;-))

Of course the "theme" is trivial... It could arc to a water fountain around it, or to higher tech Plexiglass scenes... That is just "artist conception" stuff...

But I "worry" a bit since the PIRANHA drive is very powerful compared to what we are used too... I just don't want anyone to get killed... The PIRANHA drive is very dangerous, so be very careful!!!!

Cheers,

        Terry

What I find fascinating, is perhaps a historical turn around with the
PIRANHA coil.
You have defined a true new art form; the Gothic Coil. You returned
to turn of the century artistics with
modern "state of the art" electronics. Strike rail ... phooey, use
dragons breathing fire.

Absolutely wonderful. Perhaps you are a new Strickfaden waiting for
the proper movie set?
Anyhow, it may end up in the Guggenheim. Great work.
Thanks for the fun.

Hi,

I got the secondary pretty coated now :-)

The EnviroTex stuff did a great job even though I did not "baby" it
at all ;-))

Remember the dragons:

If there is no breakout point, they corona glow off their wings
real cool!!

Best digital picture I could take...
