usually if your arms aren't raised the streamers jump off the next highest point, the top of the head if you're looking straight ahead. Never did figure out why even tho most heads are roundish if they're shaved.

Thanks for your replies.
Wearing safety glasses can't be wrong at any time,
this is of course advisable.
What I was looking for:
Are there any special glasses that are used in these
HV stunts or are they just ordinary "lab glasses".
These were definitely no welding googles, they were
clear, maybe very lightly tanned, but nothing really dark.

I was thinking it might have to do with the "streamer hits or
exits the eye while performing the lightning man stunt" -myth,
which might not be a myth at all.
Though I wonder how attractive the eye might be for the streamers,
I would think nose, ears etc would make much more attraktive points
of discharge in case you do not raise your arms properly...
