I am considering your coupling method for a comparison. With your method, a second high voltage supply is required (which is why I selected the other method). I could use my pole pig tranny to drive the NST Secondary and use my HV divider to ensure rated voltage at the secondary. Yes, this will be easy to do. I'll report back.
