I would have to agree. Call me crazy, but protect yourself, and your house wiring, before you worry about the tree. Wow dude, what do your neighbors think of you? You must be the noisiest residence in the city.

By the way, hitting the tree with 15' arcs would merely heat up the inner bark. The cell walls resist electricity, giving off heat and light (thus sometimes they catch fire). But, excess of strikes would permanently damage the area hit.

killing you then the tree . . .
