Thanks to all who replied, it makes my decision easier. I am new to the
list snd this is my second post the first being the one asking for advice.
I am 60 years old almost retired (I repair verry few monitors now days,
just for old established customers,I no longer advertise or look for
buisness. I never thought at my age I have become so excited,inerested
and constantly thinking of (or working) on Tesla Coils,,,I have built 3 so
far.Thanks for such a great group! I have read 90% of the post back to
2000,,,also a little long winded this morning ;)

All other things equal (including the price), I'd
worry about %Z before I worried about winding material
(with lower %Z being preferred).

I wouldn't even worry about %Z. In Tesla coil and Jacobs Ladder experiments you always use a pig with a ballast big enough to swamp any leakage reactance of the pig itself.
