Dr.,

Actually, I simply used the exterior application
of the aluminum duct tape to join the ends together.
I ended up with a couple of layers of tape over
most of the toroid's surface. I used the heavy
duty 3" wide Nashua aluminum duct tape and a
couple of layers of this over the toroid's surface
also contributes to additional dent resistance.
