Thought I'd post it to show that x-rays can come from unlikely sources.
Yes, they've over-priced it, haven't they? Must be selling them to Uncle
Sam.

To get x-rays, you need to accelerate electrons, with high electric
fields, into a high - Z target.

There might be large enough accelerating potentials around sharp edges
at a few kilo-volts, but I doubt the mean-free path (between
decelerating collisions) for electrons is large enough through stp gas,
certainly liquids. Yet, a few might make it, so a very weak emission
wouldn't surprise me too much.
