How did you figure that out? Doesn't sound a bit like can crunching,
which I've thought about too. I have a bunch of 3500 ufd, 450 volt
filter capacitors I've thought of trying for energy storage. Not sure
how long they'd last though. One of them is fine for a magnet charget
once I learned to put a big fat diode across the coil to reduce reverse
voltage swing.
