Hi,

A lot has to do with all the "newer" safety standards which beat up manufactures relentlessly about electrical safety... Note how you can't get an extension cord any more without three BIG sticky safety flags on it :-P

I used to work with a lot of safety engineers, and the most important thing they stressed was "be careful"!!! Anyone can get electrocuted by an alarm clock if they "try hard enough"...

But in our case, we play far closer to the electricity than any "consumer" plugging in a toaster... "Our" top voltage is say 400,000 Volts. Primary currents of 1000 amps... MOTs that seem to have matching specs to an electric chair... "Exposed wiring" taken to the theoretical limit ;-))

"We" have to be far far more carful in our sport!!!

Cheers,

        Terry

I wonder how many of them are REALLY electrocuted and how many cases
are misdiagnosed?
