Hi,
I have been pretty busy with non Tesla coil things this last month
but I did get to run the DF-DRSSTC hard last Sunday.
It worked pretty well! The IGBTs were getting to ~50C and nothing
seemed to want to blow up at all. The sparks were a little short at
about 2 feet. I think the 60 BPS is hurting it there as well as
things not being real well tuned tuned up and such. I also forgot to
bring the 5mH line inductor so the firing voltage was about 170VDC
rather than ~240VDC. but it seems to work pretty good. DRSSTC are a
little odd when figuring out power but it should have been about 380
watts for a Freau number of 1.23. So finding a way to run up to
120BPS is next on the list....
Cheers,
Terry
