Hello Terry and all,
Here is a picture of my demo TC and wound TC secondaries of bigger format.
The lower deck contains a 8000/50 NST, Terry filter, multiple static gap, PFC
and CORCOM line filter. The upper deck has the MMC and TC proper. The MMC
consists of 2 strings of 18 WIMA FKP1 caps, 0.22/1250DC/600AC.
Primary diameter 6 inch, secondary is 2.67"/11.3", 880 turns 0.3 mm.
Upper toroid is made from plastic dryer ducting, paper pulp as filler and
aluminium
repair tape for the smooth conducting layer. The centerpiece is styrofoam,
decked in with plywood and aluminium foil. Normally, with a break out point,
the small TC gives 2 ft streamers. The 2 bigger secondaries are: 5" x 25" with
1200 turns of 25AWG of 210 high temp wire and 6.3"x 29", with 1455 turns of
same wire. All secondaries are coated with 4 layers of Silvathane Classic
Brilliant.
Hope you will find it interesting.
