Tesla Coil Tuner and 555

Terry,
Everyone bear witness! Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!!! It was late and I had the printouts of the 2 schematics backwards. You are of course correct in that you have pin #4 connected and the guys on the 555 site leave it off!

Somehow, you got my messages out of order as I sent you a post earlier, that has already been posted, explaining that I finished the TCT and everything is absolutely fine. I had even sent a post replying to Steve Connor explaining my errors.

I have finally figured out where I got sidetracked. When I was looking through my data sheets, I accidentally picked up the one for the LM555 instead of the one that came with my TLC555CP from TI, which is indeed a CMOS IC. This is why my TCT works so well. I don't think it would have functioned correctly if I had actually used an LM555.

All's well that ends well. Like I said in my previous post, the TCT works like a champ and like you said, I probably know more about the venerable 555 IC than I would ever want to or need to know! One last comment, Terry, would you consider adding a meter option to your TCT file? I think that people other than me would find this easier to work with than the LED. Just a thought. Regards.
Paul
