If you should try to cook a sausage or anything else by poking two nails
into it and attaching the nails to 120VAC mains, please remember that you
are dealing with a mains voltage supply and that it is very dangerous. You
should at least implement some rudimentary safety precautions, such as a
fuse in line with the power plug and well insulated connections. I would
also include some kind of label with a warning about the danger of getting
shocked by contact with the nails (electrodes).
I know a lot of people tend to take these things for granted but I still
think it is important to constantly remind ourselves about safety. Over the
years, I have known way too many people who have injured themselves fooling
around with their various hobbies, me included. :-((
