hmmm I suppose you pay for what you "want"... I have paid from 18.00 to 135.00 $ for 1256D's yes.. in the beggining of my coiling I was anxious to get the goodies and the cost was a minimal concern to me..
and I payed dearly for the items... eventually I started shopping "smartly" and found the items I needed for minimal costs due to " not the average listing words" on Ebay.... instead of searching "Variacs" I started looking for "Powerstat" and also "variable transformers" found some great deals due to no one else bidding on them... altho shipping was still a major price factor... just cant seem to get around the weight of the 1256D's... lbs are lbs no matter the physics in general on earth .... good thing we arent paying for shipping on Jupiter ;)

you can always purchase a new one from Newark Electronics ( 1256D single) for only a mere 995.00 $ .... thank you Ebay... !!
