They are 10 Henry (nominal) 100mA iron cored chokes
sold by Maplin here (part# ST28) They look like little
EI cored transformers. They are meant for a tube audio
amp kit that Maplin used to sell. I imagine you could
get something very similar from Hammond in the US.
I modified them a bit to try and increase the voltage
handling.

Thanks for the dope. What's their DC resistance and where do you get
them? Would be good for resonant-charging drivers for ignition coils.
