He is not very tall....but then I am 6'-4".
Oh, come on. Loosen up a little.
That was a "Short person" joke.

He is bald.... like the rest of us

When he was up front and giving his presentation, which lasted about 15 minutes, I thought he was somewhat nervous and un-comfortable in front of the crowd.

He used an overhead projector and transparencies to highlight his Tesla history presentation .

For the Tesla Turbine presentation he used a dowel and some, closely space cd's.
Then he went on to explain some of the principles behind the Tesla Turbine.

Later in the evening we were at his demonstration table.
He had several "things" going at the same time.

A microwave and the "CD" thing. He explained he was having trouble with this demonstration because of the Tesla Coil going off next to him.

A hand held device (I think it was a high voltage "sniffer" or "leak detector") that produced sparks inside a glass jar and he encouraged "hands on" with this demonstration and then used different commercial bulbs to create a plasma bulb effect.

All of his demonstrations were very effective in bringing in the people and making them ask questions.
At this point he seemed, at ease, and very comfortable in front of the people. He talked freely with everyone and did a great job of answering all of the questions. His table was always busy.

My impression of Bill Beaty is: I think he is an up front, down to earth type of person, that could sit down and talk with someone, such yourself, and keep your interest, and then turn around and talk with someone like my Wife and myself, and keep our interest. I think he has the ability to "teach". A talent not many of my "instructors" had.

As far as his "Weird Science" site goes. I don't like to get into it, because I cannot back get out of it in less than an hour or two. Great stuff!

We took some pictures of him and his demonstration table. I can e-mail them to you if you would be interested?

Thank you

WES

"Then Bill Beaty took the floor and talked about some Tesla history."

What kind of a guy is he? He sure generates a lot of interesting stuff
and anyone here who isn't familiar with it should look up his Weird
Science site.
