RE: coil running of car battery(s)?

Do you wave a drawing of the driver circkit for ickle tess? this is exactly what I was thinking of and I beleve that it is exactly what is needed.I don't mind using someone elses brain work. I am just glad that my idea works even though I wasn't the first one to think of it! ;-)

I have built many small coils that run from batteries..

Millie Tess a 76V SSTC powered from AA Cells.

Nano Tess a 12 V SSTC (was the smallest SSTC in the world ;)

Ikle Tess a conventional coil powered from 12V and two Ignition Coils

Tiny Tess a conventional coil powered from its own 2kv inverter. From 12V

I have even seen tabletop coils run from 12v to 240v off the shelf inverters
feeding NST's
But I'm not sure how that gets around CSA approval, 400W of mains derived
from car batteries is just as dangerous as mains from the wall. (although
current limited) Id check before you build anything.
