You can't (really) do a singing arc with a SGTC, however with a SSTC, or a VTTC, it can be done. I wouldn't start out with an SSTC though.

Ok, I don't have a TC yet, and am going to start this weekend, but my
question is, is there any precautions I need to take, or any extra steps
I need to take to make it ready for the singing arc?  I just saw a video
of it, and I was amazed at how neat it was.

I know that I now need to make a SSTC instead of SGTC, but other than
that, what design considerations are there?
