If you wind a bifilar winding (two wires side by side) and then hook the two coils in "series aiding" (top end of one to bottom of the other, connection to other pair of leads) you will get four times the inductance of a single winding. However, the voltage between turns will be very much greater up to half the total voltage across the coil) and the effective capacitance will be very much higher. Tesla speaks of this as an "advantage" of this form of winding and "features" the extra capacitance but ignores the fact that it will probably be very lossy compared to adding an external capacitor. Bet he never used this configuration except perhaps by accident.
