Original poster: "Gerry Reynolds" <gerryreynolds@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Hi Malcolm,You really dont have the thickness of the cap. The foil wraps are very close to the outside surface of the cylinder body. You really need to think of clearance to the body of the cap and not just to its leads.

Original poster: "MalcolmTesla" <tesla@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Thank you for pointing that out. My PVC when measured with a tape measure is 1 1/4" in diameter. Then you still have the thickness of the capacitor itself (since the leads come out the center).
