in case of my coil - no - it`s just the secondary former, coz i can`t
find "shedule xxx" here :-)

i don`t think that _any_ zapping inside of the small-to-medium size
secondary can last any significant amount of time, without causing
damage. maybe in Electrum's secondary it`s possible, but not in our
puppies :-D
remember what Finn said recently:

I inspected the primary coil, which was hevy PVC
insulated wire, and found burned insulation on
the top turn. Just a point where it is bent back
inside the primary to go back to the bridge.
On the sec. coil there was also a zoot mark.
_Running the coil at length in this condition_
caused the sec. to form a long zooty track on the
inside, the whole length of the winding, and the
output got progressively shorter in the process.

When we coilers refer to a glass capacitor 'blowing up' it is just a
figure of speech. There is no explosion,... well hardly ever, and most
of the time the house can be rebuilt almost as good as new!
