Brad:
I recently made operational a small coil(5/8" dia Secondary). My boys
wanted something we could safety take to school for demos. It is set up
so we can power it with a 12 volt battery. Uses a TV flyback to charge
the cap. See www.teslaboys.com/TeslaMini/index.html
Draws 15 watts. Streamers 3" to 4". Need near pitch black room to see
the full length of the streamers. Works without the RSG, but the
streamers are much shorter.
Others have made much smaller coils. You'll likely hear from them too.

Hello All,
I have been inactive for a few years and it seems that I have
forgotten what little I knew! Due to space limitations I would like
to build a small coil (table top) not solid state or Vacuum tube. Has
anyone tried to duplicate the small coils offered by businesses such
as Edmund Scientific and others? And lastly could someone recommend
some reading material to help me get back up to speed?
Thanks,
Brad McPeak
