In a recent physics-teaching magazine I saw a photo of a modified oven
where they'd removed the door's glass and cut a circular hole in the perf
metal screen. Then they'd inserted an ABS plumbing pipe flange in the
hole to cover the sharp metal edge. For safety.
SAFETY?
There was also a photo of the oven in operation with a coiled fluorescent
bulb a few inches in front of the hole, glowing brightly.
