Hello Chris,
Its just better not to do it. I don't know what a 2 second damage will be.
Knowing that Radio active material is damaging even while you don't
feel it, I would not expose myself for 2 seconds to it. The same for
a laser which burns your eys without feeling it, or looking into a
welders arc. Some things are better not to do.
