hmmmm...   mount them on  "posts that swivel" so that they are all in 
series and turn them to open up the gaps

bad ascii art    lay them this way    _ _ _ _ _ _     adjust by angleing 
them   /  /  /  /  /   ( not quite so harsh of an angle tho )

just a thought...
