RE: Teslathlon question - BEAM Robot
Original poster: "Andy Cleary" <cleara-at-twcny.rr-dot-com>
Hi Kreso, All,
That little guy would be mine...
As several people have already mentioned, it is an autonomous
solar-powered BEAM photovore. Using the light-sensitive element in each
of the two flashing LEDs as "eyes", it hops around trying to find the
brightest source of light (to power it's solar panel and thus sustain
it's movement!)
I actually built this BEAM based on a very good tutorial:
http://raysbeambots.solarbotics-dot-net/FLEDtutorial.htm
And for the parts, I highly recommend:
http://www.solarbug-dot-com/solar-kit.html
Finally, to try to justify this totally non-coiling-related e-mail:
Something I've been meaning to try is to "float" my BEAM robot on the
topload of a Tesla Coil with a breakpoint point strapped to it's back.
Then you'd have a little moving breakpoint for your coil!
